There are so many websites on the Internet that it is reported that it contains the ultimate pub quiz question (it can be obtained free of charge or at a price). This is the first mistake a quiz writer can make, you must first analyze your audience, know participants, and evaluate the level of knowledge. If this planning phase is incorrect, fun elements may quickly turn into bore factors.
Quiz format One very common type of trivia quiz is the British phenomenon originally in the late 1980s, a pub quiz (what is called a bar or an event place in a public home). Pub Quiz events are frequently popular not only in the UK but around the world. In many cases, even public houses are not. In a pub environment, Pub Quiz Master must be particularly concerned about including the appropriate type of questions and appropriate topics. Otherwise, one or more quiz team members may be marginalized. Therefore, make sure that all topics of interest are covered. Determine how many questions are asked and plan the topics to cover. Many quizz masters present quizzes in a batch of 10 questions called rounds. A good period of pub quiz is 4 rounds of ten questions presented over a 2 hour period. One round in 1 hour 30 minutes. Clearly the time to announce questions is much shorter, but the quiz team needs time to think about the answer.
Cover topics from history to geography, music to art, sports to religion. You have not made a mistake. Some team members can not know the answer, along with at least one question, add a few brain dead so that the guessed speculation elements are needed.
So in details, the ideal pub quiz is done in this way:
- Give each team a pen / pencil and answer sheet. There are ten spaces in the seat and a numbered box for the team to enter answers on the seat. Also ensure space at the bottom of the seat to score each round.
- Spend 5 minutes to present 10 questions. Please read the question slowly and read twice. Allow 30 seconds for each question, or give more time if you need spelling.
- Give the team the opportunity to contact the questioner 20 minutes to answer the question, if the question is not written down in time, or if correction of spelling is needed.
- When 20 minutes approaches the end, we will announce that the answer will be returned to the quiz master.
- We will score the answer sheets of each team and announce the answers to each question. If you wish, you can also update the whole team with the positions they scored and their positions.
- Repeat four more times and three times.
Another tip is to search online almanac that enumerates facts and numbers. For example, the CIA factbook is very useful when writing geography questions.
First of all, please make sure that your quiz team members are having fun and enjoying it in the process.
