CORNWALL: Lushing of beach, bucket, spade, paste, coagulation cream - Yes? Well, no.
In fact, these days Cornwall is far away from the traditional seaside holiday, as you can imagine.
In 2007, Cornwall is a surfing mecca, food haven, family fun center, cultural hot spot, gardening paradise, outdoor enthusiast "dreams - and much more.
It is located at the center of the global environmental mission fighting with the influence of global warming and the leading edge research by teams working on the famous Eden project and wave and wind energy.
Ranked alongside the Taj Mahal and the Grand Canyon of the United Nations as a designated World Heritage, once for the remnants of the Victorian mining industry of the world's industrial power plant (which did not know the state of Cornwall) Richard Trevillic's "Puffing Billy" ran at Camburn Hill under Christmas Eve 1801 under its own steam independent of the rails. Oh - there is still beach, bucket, spade, paste, solidified cream lashing.
However, in 2007, visitors to Cornwall, which simply goes to the sand, are missed so much. Many people choose to be located in the center of Cornwall instead instead: a beautiful, massive undamaged central area, complete with a port and sea, a complete link between the town and the country Offers.
From the center of Cornwall, you can get to the beach on the south coast for 25 minutes and the north coast within 45 minutes. From here you are 80 miles from Devon and Cornwall's furthest border, 20 miles from the north and south coastline. You are in the center of the countryside - the area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Tamar valley - only 30 minutes from the yet crowded cosmopolitan city of Plymouth. Historic attractions, great restaurants, award-winning Theater Royal offer shows directly from London's West End.
Wild, if you want to explore a remote fishing port, walking, riding, climbing, even abseiling is also easy in a matter of minutes.
Cornwall heart is located in the center of Bodmin Moore, Dart Moore in the West and Dart Moor in the east and is located directly above the borderline of the Tamar River separating the ancient nation and England.
Our holiday cottage shows an example of the charm of Cornwall's Heart. Gorbadon is surrounded by Launceston, Bodmin, Riccardo, the historic town of Kariton and the western marshes, the main link between the eastern flowers,
Walking holiday
If you just want to spend your vacation, there is a wonderful walking path (a circle where you go from where to go) and is the ideal way to walk in the beautiful countryside. The Lynher River flows past the outskirts of the village and offers several wonderful walks along the banks of the river.
Some of our favorite walks celebrate with some of the famous local pubs in this area like the Church House Inn in Linkinhorne.
Although I walk in a narrow road, I am in the countryside, but if you are more adventurous, you can go across the border through Wagumguru and Bradda.
The nearby Tamar Valley has beautiful scenery.
Once known as England's market garden, the historic National Trust and Cotehele (the past lands), the Victoria mining port of Morwellham, Calstock have many walks but the ideal way to experience the valley is.
A wonderful gait begins with the Royal Inn of the horse bridge, runs along the Cornwall River in the Tamar River, stops the village of Luckett and Hampt, then goes back to the Royal Inn and walks neatly.
This whole area was an evacuation site for the happiness of early Narcissus, strawberries and other Tamar Valley. We exported early agricultural products born in the countryside of London and there was a remnant of that industry.
Decades before that rural skill explosion, Tamar Valley was one of the Victorian world's engine houses. It is the center of a mine commemorated at the attractive Mwellham wharf, and the family can actually get on the train underground. Every summer, this open-air museum is hosted by two music festivals for jazz and folk fans.
Perhaps you may challenge the wastelands if you are doing more energetic walks. Kit Hill offers a magnificent panorama of the surrounding countryside. From here you can see the Brentor church in Devon at the top of Tor. It is not far from the spectacular Lydford Gorge which can be accessed from either side via the parking lot of the National Trust. This is a pedestrian for hiking with more certain footprints left. Lydford's castle offers a pleasant retreat for food and snacks.
Alternatively, you can join many ramblers working on the full length of the famous South West Coast Pass over 600 miles, but you can do it step by step.
Many people take advantage of a short vacation, work on a small part of this wonderful faraway trail and look at Cornwall's wonderful cliffs and beaches.
outdoor activities
Devon and Cornwall have a course path growth network that provides a great way to enjoy the countryside.
Most of these are based on railway lines that are not being used, so you can ride without normal ups and downs. Camel trail is our particular favorite thing. It extends from Bodmin Moor, reaching the picturesque River Camel Valley to Wadebridge, Padstow of the North Island, Rick Stein of the TV chef, and of course a fantastic restaurant and Rick fish and chip shop.
If you do not have a bicycle, there are cycling, rental and shopping in most cycling passes, trailer and buggy cars that accommodate two infants and baby cars where the whole family can take you to the countryside Most of the sheets will be hired.
If you encounter Cornwall, the cycle course of Plymouth Bridge will take you quickly from Plymouth, from the city into peace, and to Dart Moore. Lydford is the beginning of Granite Way. Again, the original rail line provides the majority of cycling from here to Okehampton.
Gardener & # 39; Paradise
Devon and Cornwall boast the most beautiful garden in the country. Many are right next to the Rose cottage. A gentle climate means that plants will bloom earlier in the west side of the distant, spring is a fascinating season in majestic magnolia and pearl lotus, camellia, daffodils.
The Eden Project has attracted a lot of attention in recent years and explains the exploration of the day justly. A futuristic biome which is duplicating part of the climate zone of the world is truly one of the wonders of the modern world. Nearby there is the Lost Garden of Helligan which is the recreation of the Victorian real estate, which was the first project that Tim Smit (The Times) called "restoration of the garden of the century" was the founder of Eden.
One and a half hours from the Rose Cottage opposite the Tamar and Tavy river, The Garden House is a beautiful hotel where The Independent was selected as one of the 50 best gardens in Europe, a beautiful romantic terrace and a garden There is a splendid mixture of planting. There are ruins of the collapse of the medieval parliament building, and wonderful modernism blending wild flowers with scenes restored in the 10 trees garden. Other gardens near us have the highlights of the National Trust's Saltram, Coteletail and Landt Hark.
Heritage Holiday
Indeed, some of the finest properties of the National Trust are within 30 minutes of the Rose Cottage. Cotelet on the riverbank of Tamar is a real forgotten land. Since the fifteenth century when its owner moved to Mount Egmubbe opposite Plymouth, this house has basically not been changed. There is no electricity. A wonderful Christmas garland visits every year around the medieval big hall, conveying the spirit of Christmas Christmas. Real estate is surrounded by beautiful walks.
Cotehele also has a historic wharf and an impressive sailing barge and is often used to transport goods before the day of congestion fee.
Lanhydrock is the house of the Cornish Agar-Robartes family, made by wealthy Victorian entrepreneurs by the mining boom of that year. There is a beautiful garden and a wonderful Gothic house, and in July each year magnificent music and fireworks picnics with the greatest names in jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll are held.
The Saltreme House on the outskirts of Plymouth is a magnificent masterpiece in Georgia and was used as the main place for famous movies of Emma Thompson's sense and sensibility.
In Dart Moore, Castle Drogo, located on the beautiful Teign Valley on the lone rock, was the last castle built in the UK. The battle, the tower and turret may seem like medieval artifacts, but in fact it was completed in 1937 by the American business baron Julius Drewe.
However, there are many things in this area's heritage than the National Trust. Morwellham Quay is a unique outdoor museum in Victoria's mining harbor. Although you can take a train in a copper mine, children can enjoy dressing as a Victorian musical student. You can also shop at period shops. Classroom for the period.
Who was cold and could not taste the nostalgia of a steam locomotive? Bodmin has a steam train of Bodmin and Wenford for one and a half hours, so Thomas Tank Engine is also popular and regularly visits.
Awesome outdoor
The beach is not far: Whitsand Bay and Looe on the south coast is a popular spot - walking a cliff from Looe's Hannafore Point, dare to tackle steep steps, even at the height of the quiet and untouched bay summer season. That walk deserves it.
In the North Coast, there are beaches around Bude and Widemouth Bay and the dramatic rocky coastline around Tintagel, a romantic fortress evokes the Arthurian era.
Canoeing on the Tamar River, surfing on the north or south coast, or a wonderful selection of opportunities: The Lower Tokenbury offers an ideal way to explore our country with horseback riding in just a few minutes from the cottage.
The nearby Siblyback Lake has canoes, windsurfing, and angling.
If golf pursues your pursuit, it is the home of Benson Hedges Masters in the 1990s designed by Jack Nicklaus and St Mellion International, which immediately holds the England Open, is the country's finest course .
Fun with family
There are several wonderful family spots nearby. Children of all ages are very close to sightseeing spots such as Trethorne Leisure Farm, Hidden Valley Country Park (both near Launceston), Tamar Valley Donkey Park, the largest in the country, with such the best attractions I am enjoying a Plymouth National Marine Aquarium. (Of course, indoor and outdoor playgrounds have donkey rides).
Evening
Plymouth's Theater Royal has the best professional and large budget theater, and Sterts, an open-air theater at the edge of Bodmin Moor, offers more intimate pleasure. Including popular family programs, amateur and professional music and drama
Carnglaze Caverns is another place for music - it is about half more away. A concert will be held in the basement at the lamb store - as the Navy used it as a warehouse, it was hidden so it was used to secure the crown jewelry during World War II!
Fowey is the home of Du Maurier Festival which is a wonderful entertainment month in May every year. This year, the stars heading for Cornwall include everything from Jethro Tull to Humphrey Lyttelton to provide an exotic mixture of music and drama, conversation and comedy.
Eating out
One of the great benefits of Cornwall's expertise on visitor visits is the extra range of going out.
You can choose from Michelin star standards in just a couple of minutes at Callington, or at Padstow or Plymouth. To enjoy bar meals and fine dishes at the restaurant using local ingredients, enjoy a refreshing walk to the nearby Church House Inn, visit many other pubs that serve Cornwall food and Cornish ale Please give me. Cross, Royal at Horse Bridge, Lilla Mill's Manner, North Hill's Race Horse, Treble Lee's Springer Spaniel.
