Drakamöllan in the beautiful area of Scania's Österlen is a historic farm dating back to the 17th century. Especially in the 18th century when forestry brought considerable income, I experienced a dry season. Previously, in the era of unstable drakamoran formed the rust that is obliged to provide the costumes needed for horses and the army.
Drakamöllan's agriculture ended in 1948 when a new owner celebrated a new era by turning farms into luxury houses. They established local nature reserves with an interest in preserving cultural landscapes. Drakamöllan has also become a site for cultural meetings for invited intellectuals such as artists, musicians, poets. The nonconventional interior refurbishment gained substantial recognition among house furniture and accessories.
Today, along with a new owner, I played a role as a country hotel of private cuisine incorporating hospitality to participate in opera fans.
From B & B to country hotel, cultural garden
While visiting a small village in the Provence region of France, the current owner of Drakamöllan, Ingalill Thorsell learned to understand the "living history" of these villas and told the word "a place where time is always there" picked up. When she saw Drakamöllan, she decided to follow her mantra, choose Österlen for Provence and realize this very dream.
The beautiful and quiet countryside with Moorish landscape, canyon, beech forest, nearby beach, unique local culture and richness of art is what she wanted. Drakamöllan itself was planning to maintain the majority of rural farmsteads images and to provide traditional cuisine in a way that Ingalill felt it during the young age. She built a house in old clothes and her customer service depended on personal hospitality that incorporated courtesy and pleasure in a quiet atmosphere.
By June 1998 Drakamöllan started a B & B service. Guests had originally served home cooking in the countryside, but the real interest of Ingalill's quests made them "participate in family". Later, with the expansion of the business, a dining room with excellent acoustic characteristics was designed, a suitable kitchen was set up, and a new room where each personality and story is conveyed (like all customers, Ingalill says) I will follow.
As the demand for conferencing services has increased and the number of customers has increased, the kitchen became busy and professional chefs were hired. A new culinary profile using a terroir ("place sensation") concept and a full-fledged seasonal cross oven menu using local ecological ingredients. Ingalill continued to provide customers with more stories to tell about personal feel and cuisine. All of these works are directed to two cookbooks that later received national awards and awards.
Ingalill's passion has long made it possible for guests of the meal to talk with singers during the performance, along with friends of the opera house and Copenhagen's opera house (the theme of Aria from well-known opera and operetta) Plan an opera evening. These unique events are highly demanded and are always sold out.
Since Drakamöllan is located in a hill offering a natural green "amphitheater", at the Annual Opera Festival inspired by the opera of Glyndebourne, a new concept "chamber - opera" was introduced outdoors . It started from La Traviata in order of LaBohème, Carmen, Madame Butterfly, L & # 39; Elisir d & # 39; Amore, Seville's hairdresser. This concept was introduced by "guidOpera" even in Denmark. Classical concerts provide amazing experience in such environments.
Drakamöllan - Hidden gems all enjoyable
Drakamöllan offers stylish accommodation in a magical countryside offering authentic cuisine tradition, an unforgettable music experience, modernized 19th century facilities and first-class service. In addition, Österlen as a region provides many attractions and local artists exhibit and sell their own artwork and design. An antique artwork renovated in March every year is planned and worth a visit. All of this was impressed by both domestic and foreign tourists, including those with high demand of Japanese who knew what they were looking for. You can reach Drakamöllan within 2 hours from Copenhagen International Airport.
