Review: Royal Caribbean Ocean of the Sea from Galveston -2

I had planned this cruise for 7 months. A friend and I cruised with carnival and celebrity before, I was eager to try the Royal Caribbean after listening to many positive things about the beauty of the ship, the quality of food and service. (In the previous year I surprised them on Alaska cruises I will consider later), they once again revealed that the seas they claimed were Royal Caribbean & Navigator of their favorite of 13 other cruises they took It was a ship. We are planning to take a fresh boat from the dry dock for the upgrade and go to several brand new destinations that no one of us visited like Roatan, Honduras, Belize City. The expectation was high.

Then the cruise time came. I can not say that I had a bad time on this cruise, but from the moment I arrived at the port of Galveston, I think that it can be said that our expectation has been slightly atrophied. Let's take the highlight of the life on the high seas and the low light on you, on the ocean navigator.

High

Our dining experience - The best service we received on board was in sapphire's dining room. This is without doubt the most luxurious dining room I saw on a cruise ship. Walking in the dining room is like entering a majestic opera house with magnificent staircase cases and three levels of dining with windows on both sides. Our two servers, with a modest feeling, were making two ice glasses, two tea bags and their iced tea with hot water waiting every night for her every night at night I remembered. I could affirm to her that it was "tea pacifiers", but I had to look at myself with my Starbucks in my mirror and raise my nose with folgers . We all enjoyed the diversity of meal choices and thought that the meal was very high quality running like a clock work. It was really fun to have dinner every night.

Here we are at dinner. I am a youth ball.

The interior of the cabin - cabin 7667 (rear harbor) was a sweet home of the house for our week at the sea. My parents were immediately next to 7669. For the cabin in the room, there were plenty of space to stack all our things, there was a completely clear space at the entrance. The bed says a bit difficult, but my travel partner Jay (purple man) said that he is just right. With enough closets and withdrawal space, there was enough room to unpack each. Our steward service is top notch, re-stocked and organized twice a day.

The ship - is definitely a beautiful ship. The most noteworthy is the Royal Promenade. This is a shop, restaurant, bar to give the cruiser the feeling of going down the stone paved street floating in the sea. I recommend two poem pubs looking at some nice atmosphere and people. The main atrium is luxurious and the various lounges and bars have a very elegant but comfortable atmosphere. Pool deck is also impressive. There are two main pools adjacent to several hot tubs, some of which are shady. In most cases, there are many chairs in and out of the shade, but if your cruise is full, you better get there early. I believe the nightclub overlooking the pool deck with floor-to-ceiling windows also gave me a wonderful impression on the ship's offerings. The ship's casino is pretty decent, but smoking is permitted, so smelly like an ashtray may come out.

Overlook the Royal Promenade

Grand atrium

Drink Package - Three of us had a premium package of 55 dollars a day on this cruise, but my dad only got a basic package because I only drink beer. At first glance this package may look slightly expensive (the Royal Caribbean's drinks package is part of the most expensive ones in the ocean), but overall we are getting money. What I especially liked was basically nothing in the menu of drinks to have reached the limit of super premium ones. You can also choose Gray Goose vodka at no additional charge. The back side here is a bar service (see below).

Theater entertainment - If you've met the sea navigator, I will not miss the ice skating show. It was wonderful and I was far better than I thought it was going on. We also enjoyed Elton John's impersonator, bar flare show, adult game show.

The Lows

Departure / weakness - the words misery, nightmares, eternity and dismantling remind both of them. This is a release of the WEST boarding / desorption process I experienced so far, parents who took part in a cruise before 13 agreed. The Royal Caribbean sent us an e-mail when instructing us to arrive at a certain time based on the deck where our cabin was located before cruising. When that happened, we were flocking to Houston, and our move dropped us right when we were supposed to be there. It was 12:30 pm. We had two different lines until 2 pm, both of which were moving very slowly. This is definitely not the way to start your vacation but a very slight smile was found in the security and check-in line. I am aware of you, I am waiting a bit, but this was ridiculous. I think the longest wait I've ever experienced was the top 30 minutes. I definitely expressed my dissatisfaction with the check-in woman.

The refund was practically bad. As the driver was waiting for us, we chose self-checkout and met the specific time and place. We did this with other cruises with minimal waiting. The customs official sailed the ship and collected the form. In the past, basically I came down from the ship. It is not this time. When we arrived at the place we were appointed, we waited another 45 minutes to be allowed to get off next. Once I got off the boat, what happened? Another line is 45 minutes, the other goes through customs. Thanks to the Royal Caribbean and Galveston Harbor, my driver charged an additional fee.

Briefly - I will not cruise again from Galveston, Texas, as I do not have the ability to handle the amount of people the cruise ships have. Basically, the Royal Caribbean left negative first impression and negative last impression.

Service - Service at the bar and lounge of this ship was the best, except for our server at dinner, but it certainly was not a cruise-qualified one. There were some outstanding items in the bartender, but in general it took a day to buy a drink. I felt like I was careful with bartending and servers. The worst service was probably a pool bar. Some people say that I am too tough but when I use my hard earned money on vacation, I want a decent service. period. I have not actually gotten it on this cruise. My parents also said, "Things were not exactly the same on this cruise."

Kids, Kids, Kids - OK, Perhaps I'm trying to get some eyeballs about this, but that is probably not negative, but the kids occupying the main pool area of this ship Too many. Just like elsewhere, parents are partially responsible here, so their little monsters will be fine and allow other people to splash in the main pool, but I will not let the pool I will commit the Royal Caribbean because it does not force rules. In the past cruises, children were not allowed even in the hot tub, but they were in this. Certainly, there is a pool and hot spring for adults only, but there is no entertainment there (main pool entertainment is not to write home).

We did not participate in the excursion on this cruise, so I can not talk about that quality. We have heard various comments that the excursion is expensive and not worth the money. One exploration took place more than an hour behind and had to be delivered to the ship by boat when departing Honduras.

Judgment - If I have to choose between Royal Caribbean and Carnival, I will probably go to a carnival based on past experience. I am not totally shut off by giving another opportunity to the Royal Caribbean, but they have to complete me to keep me back.
